LEON L. WILLIAMSON FUNERAL HOME, MILWAUKEE, WI

The Reed family expresses their sincere thanks and gratitude to our many friends for the love shown during this time of bereavement. Your prayers, telephone calls, texts, cards, visits, flowers, and other expressions of love and kindness meant so very much to the three of us (William B. Edwin, and Alwyn). May God continue to shower His richest blessings upon you for your thouthtfulness.
William B., Carolyn, Edwin,
Mr. William Henry Reed recounts life growing up in the Whitehaven area of Memphis, Tennessee, and the struggle he encountered attempting to obtain equality for all people, regardless of their race, creed, or color. Racism followed Reed through his entire life, from watching empty school buses that he could not ride to school as a child, to fighting for his children to attend the Whitehaven High School where they integrated it in the late 60's, to his dying days, William fought the good fight. The Lord's fight.
August 1, 1954 - May 7, 2019
To you, who were so thoughtful in helping here and there,
And to you who looked to heaven and whispered a silent prayer;
To you, who watched and waited for the hours to slowly pass,
And to you who held our trembling hand and stayed to the very last;
To you who cooked and you who sewed,
And you who provided it all;
To you who answered the telephone,
And talked to those who called.
To you, who went along with us, or sent a flower so sweet,
To you, who whispered in our ear,
Someday again we will meet.
To you, my dear friends, to each of you who have only words of praise,
To you, may God be mighty good now and throughout your days.
